Macon School District Taking Similar COVID-19 Precautions to Last Year

The Macon School District is taking similar precautions to last year regarding COVID-19, and there will be no mask mandate in district buildings. However, Superintendent Scott Jarvis says one difference will be a mask requirement on district buses.
The district will have masks available for students riding buses that don’t have them. Besides that federal requirement, Jarvis says they’re looking to run the district as normally as possible this year.
Jarvis adds their mitigation efforts will be similar to last year.
The district has also been in consistent communication with the Macon County Health Department on what best courses of action to take as the school year begins. Classes in Macon began Tuesday.
