Macon Native to Serve as New La Plata Superintendent

Dr. John Wiggans has been named as the new La Plata Superintendent. Wiggans is a native of Macon who has spent the past three years as an instrumental music teacher at Brookfield High School. Prior to that, he spent four years as the Meadow Heights Superintendent. Wiggans says he’s looking forward to getting back into a superintendent role.

Wiggans also worked as a Superintendent in the Stet School District. He says his time spent as Meadow Heights Superintendent was particularly eye-opening.

Wiggans will take over for Dr. Craig Noah as La Plata Superintendent, who is returning to his alma mater of Bucklin, to serve as their superintendent. Wiggans says the transition process with Noah is going smoothly.

A meet-and-greet event with Dr. Wiggans is scheduled to take place in La Plata next month.
