A Macon man is being treated for a gunshot wound after he was involved in an incident at an apartment complex in Kirksville. Officers with the Kirksville Police Department were dispatched to Kirksville Garden Apartments at around 4:15 Friday afternoon for a report of a burglary. While en-route they were notified one of the subjects involved had been shot and would need medical attention. A white male from Macon was shot during an altercation inside the apartment and was eventually flown by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. He is reported to be in stable condition. While officers were on the scene the Kirksville YMCA was placed on lockdown for a brief period of time. Two white males from Kirksville have been arrested for the incident. Kirksville Police are still investigating in an attempt to identify any other people who may have been involved. The Adair County Sheriff’s Department provided assistance during the initial investigation.
