MACON LOOKS FOR REVENGE IN DISTRICT SEMI FINAL AGAINST CLARK COUNTY
The Tigers will hope the return of quarterback Blake Claas will help spark their offense against the Indians. Claas missed the regular season finale against Centralia due to injury. He returned to action last week and played the full game to lead the Tigers to a 42-34 win over Bowling Green in the opening round of districts. While the Tigers will look to crack the Clark County defense, they will also have to deal with a pair of formidable running backs for the Indians.
In their week 7 regular season meeting, Macon switched defensive schemes and were able to hold the Clark County offense to two offensive touchdowns in the game. Clark County coach Ethan Allen feels they are ready to make the necessary offensive adjustments this week.
The winner of Friday night’s district semi final will face either Monroe City or Palmyra in the district championship game next week. Allen says going up against their conference rivals again in districts poses a unique challenge.
Clark County brings a 9-1 record into the district semi final, while Macon is 5-5 on the season. Colin Schowe and Austin Ward will have the call on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com beginning with pregame coverage at 6:40 pm.
