Burns & McDonnell will handle the planning and engineering for upgrades at the Macon Fower Memorial Airport. City Administrator Avis Marshall says the first upgrade will be for the rotating beacon.
Marshall says the current beacon might be donated to the historical society. The city council this week also approved the purchase of 1600 feet of barrier fence for the Overbrook stormwater ditch, and a contract with Connect Energy for about 50 percent of the natural gas needs for Macon Municipal Utilities for next winter.
