Macon Hosts Palmyra With Big Conference Implications

Macon and Palmyra meet Friday with big Clarence Cannon Conference implications on the boys side. It comes one game after 14-3 Macon played at South Shelby, who was coming off a tournament championship, and before the Tigers play Mexico in a game with big district implications. Coach Dale Devenport says this stretch requires mental toughness.

Palmyra is 14-5 and fell to Van-Far in its host tournament championship game before bouncing back with a win over Brookfield.

The 15-4 Lady Panthers already hold regular season wins over Centralia and Brookfield as well as a tournament win over South Shelby. Coach Timothy Southers says his team’s success starts on the defensive end.

Macon picked up its fifth win of the season Saturday by defeating Marshall. Coach Natalie Garlock thinks her team is constantly improving.

You can hear Palmyra at Macon on Superstation KRES with pregame starting around 5:45. Austin Ward will have the call.
