Macon County Health Department Director Expresses Concern Over Increasing COVID-19 Cases

Macon County Health Department Director Mike Chambers says there’s one particularly concerning element to this recent rise in COVID-19 cases.
Chambers is hopeful testing events hosted by the health department will help determine some trends in COVID-19 cases in Macon County. He adds that the Delta variant has also made an appearance recently in the county.
A drive-thru vaccination clinic is scheduled to take place Thursday at Samaritan Hospital in Macon from 8 am to 2 pm. The Pfizer vaccine will be distributed. No appointment is necessary, but those getting vaccinated must bring an ID and insurance information.
