Macon County Dealing with Increase in COVID-19 Cases; Mass Testing Event Planned

Macon County has announced eight new positive cases of COVID-19, along with three presumptive positive cases. Presumptive cases are those people who have been in close contact with someone who tested positive and have shown COVID-19 symptoms, but either hasn’t been tested or test results are inconclusive. Macon County now has a total of 26 active cases of the virus, with nine presumptive positive cases.. Two of the active cases are currently hospitalized. The Macon County Health Department is working with the Department of Health and Senior Services to provide mass testing for COVID-19 to be held at the Macon County Park July 20th from 7 am to 3 pm. Details on the event and registration will be released next week.
