Macon and Kirksville Meet in Highland Tourney Championship Prelude

Macon and Kirksville will meet Tuesday in a doubleheader that will serve as a prelude to the Highland Tournament championship. The championship games were postponed one week to this weekend.

In Tuesday’s matchup, the 9-2 Macon girls could be without KRES All-Star Lexi Miller, who injured her knee in the Highland semifinal game. Miller averages 23.8 points per game. Coach Richard Driscoll says it will be a good opportunity for the girls around her.

10-2 Kirksville has won six straight and coach Nick Totta has most appreciated his team’s selfless play.

The Macon boys are 9-2 while Kirksville is 11-1. Macon coach Dale Devenport says Kirksville has numerous playmakers that have his attention.

Kirksville coach Tyler Martin says his team’s defense has been strong.

You can hear Macon at Kirksville on Superstation KRES with pregame starting at 5:45. Austin Ward will have the call.
