Next season’s schedule for Moberly Greyhounds basketball will look radically different than previous ones. The schedule, released Tuesday, will have only 22 games, including 13 at home, but the Greyhounds will start on the road at West Plains. Coach Pat Smith says he actually thought piecing it together would be more difficult than it was.

The Region 16 men’s teams were going to switch to three games against each opponent a year from now, but decided to start that this season instead because all of the teams needed games. The Greyhounds will play two of three against Three Rivers and State Fair at home, and two of three against West Plains and Mineral Area on the road.

Moberly usually starts at home and ends the regular season at West Plains, but will instead start with a classic at West Plains January 22nd and 23rd, and finish with home games against St. Louis and State Fair March 24th and 27th.

After nine games out of region, Moberly will start Region 16 play February 17th at Mineral Area. The Hounds will not play Indian Hills or Southeastern Iowa this season, and sit out this year’s Highland Tournament.
