MACC Sweeps Metropolitan

The MACC basketball teams swept Metropolitan Saturday afternoon at Fitzsimmons-John Arena, with the women winning 80-35, and the men winning 107-69. Bryce Dowell’s 19 points led the way for the Lady Hounds in the first game.

The win was the 50th for Haden as the coach at MACC. The Lady Hounds host St. Louis Monday night at 5:30. Haden says that’s an important one heading into Wednesday’s Region 16 opener at Mineral Area.

Metropolitan fell to 1-3.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 58-29 halftime lead on their way to the win. Tyren Moore’s 21 points led the way.

Dezi Jones had 18 as the Greyhounds finished the season sweep. Coach Pat Smith was pleased with how well his team played in the rematch.

The Greyhounds are 7-2, and start Region 16 play Wednesday night at Mineral Area. Metropolitan falls to 2-6.
