MACC SWEEPS JOHN WOOD

The MACC basketball teams both improved to 3-0 with a sweep over John Wood Tuesday night, with the women winning 108-60 and the men winning 99-79. Bryce Dowell led all scorers in the women’s game with 18 off the bench.

Allison Moore from Paris led John Wood with 12. The Lady Blazers fall to 1-1. Moberly hosts the Missouri Baptist JV Saturday night at 6:30.

In the second game, the Greyhounds erased an early nine-point deficit to go up by ten at the half, and then Markelo Sullivan stretched the lead in a hurry.

Sullivan tied for a game-high 17. Coach Pat Smith said his team was lethargic at the start.

Bradyn Kilby (BRAY-din KILL-bee) led the Blazers with 17 and Clark County’s Chandler Bevans chipped in ten. The Blazers fall to 1-2. The Greyhounds see Marshalltown of Iowa for a second time Friday afternoon in Sedalia.
