MACC Plans on Adding Baseball, Softball and E-Sports in 2021-22
Moberly Area Community College President Dr. Jeff Lashley has announced the college is planning on adding three sports teams starting in the fall of 2021.
Lashley stresses planning is in the early stages, but unlike Greyhounds and Lady Hounds basketball, these will likely be Division Two or Three programs.
MACC chose baseball and softball because other community colleges in the state are adding those sports.
These programs could grow enrollment at MACC.
While some colleges, like St. Louis and Metropolitan, split their teams among several campuses, MACC’s teams will be based at the Moberly campus. Lashley says no decisions have been made on coaches or where to play games yet. We will have a complete interview with Dr. Lashley Friday morning at 9:32 on Chariton Valley Magic City Sports Talk on Information Radio KWIX and centralmoinfo.com.
