MACC Basketball Teams Get First Wins of Season

Tekao Carpenter’s 29 points, including the team’s first 14 of the game, led the 20th-ranked Moberly Greyhounds to a 73-65 win over Butler Saturday night.

J.B. Connoley with the call on Information Radio KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Moberly led by as many as 17 in the second half. Butler cut it to one possession in the final two minutes, but Carpenter helped end the comeback.

Coach Pat Smith says Carpenter’s a special player.

The Greyhounds play Southeastern of Iowa Friday afternoon at 5 in the Missouri-Iowa Challenge at Indian Hills.

In the first game, the Lady Hounds picked up their first win for Coach Erika Harris in a 64-37 win over Lincoln Trail. The Lady Hounds took control early.

Jordan Labrador-Hallett and Sydney Pettis each had 11, and Destiny Bynum-Johnson finished with a team-high 17. Coach Erika Harris talked about Bynum-Johnson’s play.
