Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford reminds listeners that the crime of driving while impaired can involve substances other than alcohol.
Not all DWI convictions in Missouri lead to jail time.
However, subsequent convictions do lead to mandatory jail time. Drivers booked for DWI still get 20 minutes to contact an attorney before submitting to a blood or breath test.
Suspects do have a right to refuse, but may have their license suspended by the Department of Revenue if they do. Luntsford was our guest last week on KWIXLand This Morning.
