Luetkemeyer Wants Budget Disagreement Solved

Congress passed another short-term funding bill last week to again avoid the possibility of a government shutdown, however the extension is only until this Friday for part of the government, and March 22nd for the rest. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer called the repeated extensions ridiculous and embarrassing.

Republicans in the House voted 113-to-97 for the extension. Mark Alford and Eric Burlison were the only members of Missouri’s delegation to vote no in the House. The other four Republicans and both Democrats voted in favor.

Luetkemeyer says negotiators think they’re close to an agreement, but there will probably still be people voting no on the final package.

Both of Missouri’s U.S. Senators, Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt, were two of only 13 senators to vote no.
