Luetkemeyer Discusses Retirement Decision

Following his announcement Thursday that he would retire from Congress at the end of this year, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer said on KWIXLand This Morning he’s leaving after a long discussion with his family.

The 71-year-old Luetkemeyer has represented the 3rd Congressional District of Missouri in the United States House of Representatives since 2009. He says he doesn’t want to be a lobbyist.

He says the dysfunction in the House in the last year did not factor in the decision.

Luetkemeyer says he also has “tons” of things to do on his farm.
