The Missouri House of Representatives narrowly passed House Bill 349 last week. The bill, which deals with school choice and establishes the Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program passed by the narrow margin of 82-71 One local Republican, Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton, says she voted against the bill.

McGaugh adds she also has concerns about an amendment that was put into the bill.

McGaugh was among a total of 30 Republican Representatives that voted against the bill. It now moves to the Senate where they are currently considering their own school choice proposal which would allow charter schools in more than 50 additional school districts across the state.
