LMA Takes Pivotal Role In Addressing Issues With Cattle Markets

Cattle organizations are beginning to set aside their differences to address critical problems they’re all facing when it comes to their producers receiving top dollar for their cattle.  Three of the nation’s largest cattle groups sat down at the same table earlier this month in Phoenix, in a meeting organized by the Livestock Marketing Association.  Chelsea Good, vice president for government and industry affairs, says LMA is proud to have facilitated the meeting.

Good notes that LMA took on the role of a moderator and didn’t enter the meeting with any specific outcomes in mind.

LMA vice president for government and industry affairs Chelsea Good is hopeful that follow-up meetings will take place after participants update their members with potential courses of action that the groups can take as a whole.

Representatives from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Ranchers and Cattlemen Action Legal Fund, and U.S. Cattlemen’s Association were all present at the meeting organized by LMA.  Also present were leaders from American Farm Bureau Federation and National Farmers Union.
