Over the past week the Regional Radio listening area has been subjected to high temperatures below 25 degrees. Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Kansas City, Brett Williams says this is the longest period of cold weather for the area in quite some time.

The cold temperatures also mean wind chills are dipping down into single digits and even below zero. Williams says those kinds of wind chill figures bring an additional danger for people who are outdoors.

Temperatures are expected to remain below 25 for the listening area through at least the middle of next week.
