A rare “Lot” election took place at a special Macon board of education meeting Monday night. Incumbent Kevin Linear won the seat after he and Eric Brown each had 392 votes after last Tuesday’s municipal election. Macon superintendent Scott Jarvis explains how the “Lot” election came about.

Jarvis outlines the process of how school board executed the “Lot” election.

Jarvis shares his thoughts why the two candidates went with a “Lot” election versus holding a special election.

In addition to Linear, Bill Noyes and Carrie Bergfield were also re-elected to their seats. The board also elected their board president and vice presidents. Donny Wyatt and Noyes will remain in those roles.
