Lightning Strike Causes Fire to Moberly Home

A lightning strike caused a fire off Woodland Avenue in Moberly Sunday afternoon. Moberly Fire Department Captain Jerry Washam says the strike hit the home owners chimney.

A bathroom and at least one room on the attic floor suffered the most damage. Despite being a persistent rain for most of the day, Washam says it didn’t necessarily help the department put the fire out.
