Lightning Strike Causes Fire at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence

This morning’s thunderstorms were the culprit of a fire at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence. Owner of Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home, Cory Eagan says a lightning strike started the fire early this morning.

The fire started in the attic and the Clarence Fire Department was able to contain it there and successfully extinguish it. However, Eagan says the funeral home will have to be making different arrangements for some of their funerals for the foreseeable future.

Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral home staff have yet to be able to fully assess the damage done by the fire. Some other local departments also provided assistance, along with Clarence.
