Leopold Conservation Award Nomination Process Underway

Missouri farmers have a chance to receive recognition from several state organizations and a ten-thousand dollar cash prize for their commitment to conservation practices.  Nominations for the annual Aldo Leopold Conservation Award are being accepted until June 30th, giving Missourians the chance to celebrate dedicated farmers as stewards of their land.  Ashley McCarty is executive director of Missouri Farmers Care, one of the organizations sponsoring the conservation award in the state.

This is the sixth year for the award, and McCarty says previous honorees are among the best examples of the Missouri farm community.

Nominations for the Aldo Leopold Conservation Award can be submitted through the Missouri Farmers Care website until the June 30th deadline.  A panel of judges will review applications over the summer before announcing this year’s winner in the fall.
