Late Field Goal Lifts UIndy Past Truman

Paul Buisman kicked a 40-yard field goal with 19 seconds left to give Indianapolis a 13-10 victory over Truman State in the regular season finale at Stokes Stadium this afternoon (Sat.). It was the only lead of the afternoon for UIndy and gave the Greyhounds second place in the GLVC.

Bulldog running back Cody Schrader provided the only points of the first half….

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Schrader had his fourth 200-yard rushing game of the season finishing with 202 yards on 30 carries.

Both teams scored field goals on their first possessions of the third quarter. A Schrader fumble early fourth quarter set up a short 35-yard field for the Greyhounds and JaQuan Buchanan finished it with a nine-yard run to tie the game. Truman coach Gregg Nesbitt said his defense was really good…

Isaiah Estes of Fayette had ten tackles and finished the season with a team-high 85 stops. Josh Scheiderer’s field goal was his 39th to finish second on the Bulldog career list. He leaves the program as the leader in extra points and in kick scoring. Nesbitt commented on the eight seniors that played their final game in a Bulldog uniform….

Schrader wrapped up the season with 1,855 yards to lead Division II football and finish with the second most single season rushing yards in Bulldog history. His 22 rushing touchdowns is also second best. Truman wraps up the season with a record of 8-3.
