Large Contingent Coming Back to Missouri to D-II Women’s Elite Eight

Former Lady Hounds Head Coach Hana Haden and her Georgia Southwestern State women’s basketball team will be in St. Joseph next week for the Division Two Elite Eight. The Lady Hurricanes are 29-3, and have won 13 straight. They won the Southeast Region as the 5th seed, and knocked off the 4, 1, and 2 seeds on the way.

It’s the first Elite Eight appearance for the Lady Hurricanes program. Former Lady Hound Kayla Langley was already at Georgia Southwestern when Haden arrived last year.

Kori Tomlin arrived as a graduate student after two years at SEMO, and K.K. Adams arrived after completing her playing time at Moberly. Former Mineral Area star Lexi McCulley is also on the roster.

Two former CMU players are also on the squad.

Former Lady Hounds assistant Jalisa Mitchell is on her staff, and former Moberly player Shannon Lise is a student assistant. The Lady Hurricanes are the fourth seed among the eight remaining teams, and will play Minnesota State Monday night at 7:30.
