La Plata Softball Looks To Keep Postseason Run Alive Against Braymer

A softball Class 1 State Quarterfinal contest comes to the field at La Plata as the Lady Dogs host the Braymer Bobcats Saturday afternoon. La Plata took down the defending state champions Canton in the district title game after a fifth inning rally put the Lady Dogs ahead for good. La Plata coach Wendi Travis talks about managing emotions in big games.

Starting pitcher Whitney Snow delivered a combined 27 strikeouts across the final two district tournament games. Travis talks about the importance of providing run support for her ace.

The Bobcats captured their district title with a 14-2 blowout over Schuyler County in the championship. Braymer coach Angie Stone says her team is catching fire at the right time.

The Bobcats have won four straight district titles. Braymer and La Plata faced off in the state tournament in 2020, where the Lady Dogs won 1-0. Stone provides the scout on La Plata.
