La Plata Man Suffers Serious Injuries, Driver Arrested for Felony DWI

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports three men suffered injuries and one faces charges from a Macon County accident at 8:15pm Saturday. The four-wheeler accident occurred at Festival Avenue three miles south of South Gifford when 23-year-old Austin Roberts of La Plata ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned. 21-year-old passenger Justin Adams of La Plata suffered serious injuries. Both Roberts and another passenger, 21-year-old Tristan Collier of Atlanta, suffered moderate injuries. Roberts was the lone occupant with a safety device. All three headed to area hospitals with private transport. Authorities later arrested the driver Roberts for felony DWI with serious physical injury. Roberts was released on summons.
