La Plata Man Killed in Crash

A La Plata resident was killed in a single vehicle accident on southbound Highway 63 in the La Plata city limits Friday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 72-year-old William Stites ran his pickup truck off the west side of the road around 4:20, overcorrected, ran off the east side of the road and then overturned. Stites was pronounced dead on the scene.
