La Plata Fire Chief Details Blaze at Elementary School

La Plata Firefighters were called to the elementary school just before 5 this morning to combat a major fire. Fire Chief Bob Couch described the ensuing battle.
Crews from Kirksville and Adair County provided assistance. The office area of the school was a total loss. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
