The schedule for the start of the bridge replacement on Macon County Route D in LaPlata has been moved. It is tentatively planned to now start Monday, August 3. The project will be the bridge over the BNSF Railroad, located just off U.S. Route 63 at La Plata. The new bridge will be 28 feet wide, which is 6 feet wider than the existing one, and will have additional safety features. This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s 351 million dollar Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
