Knox County School District Purchases Electric Bus

The Knox County School Board has approved the purchase of an electric school bus. The cost of an electric school bus can go as high as $350,000. Knox County Superintendent Andy Turgeon says receiving some grants helped significantly reduce the cost for the district.
Some local entities helped cover the cost as well.
The purchase is the first of its kind for a Missouri school district. While the electric bus has been ordered, Turgeon says they will have to wait a while to implement it.
The Knox County School District anticipates a significant amount of savings in maintenance and fuel costs from the purchase of the electric bus.
