Nearly two years ago, the Knox County School District became the first in the state to purchase an electric school bus. While that bus is valuable to the district the district still needa diesel buses for longer trips. Superintendent Andy Turgeon says the district recently purchased two diesel buses.

Turgeon adds there is a downside to purchasing diesel buses at this time.

The Knox County School District hopes to have the new buses by late summer. The total cost is just over 230 thousand dollars.
