Knox County Begins Eight-Man Football Era Friday

A new era of football begins in Knox County Friday as the Eagles begin eight-man football play. The Eagles participated in a scrimmage at Albany late July, and visited Keytesville in a jamboree. Knox County coach Bruce Vannoy surveyed the scrimmages.

The Eagles return a host of Lewis & Clark All-Conference players.

Every offseason, Vannoy has his players answer some questions about the offseason, and next season goals. Vannoy says their expectations will be high going into their first season of eight-man football.

The Eagles season begins with a home game against Schuyler County. Knox County superintendent Andy Turgeon has an important message for those planning to attend the inaugural eight-man football game Friday.

Knox County also closes their season against the Rams. Other notable games include a date at North Shelby, a home date with Northland Christian which is led by former North Shelby coach Seth Bass, and Northwest Hughesville, who is receiving votes in the Missouri Eight-Man Football poll.
