Kirksville Wrestling Off to Strong Start
Coming off a season where the Kirksville Tigers saw three wrestlers reach the podium at the State Championships in Columbia, an undefeated dual record, a NCMC title, and a district title, expectations were once again high for the tradition rich program. The Tigers returned two of those medalists in sophomore Jaden Ballinger and junior Logan Blickhan. Kirksville coach James Alter says they match the mentality of the whole team.
Along with the returning state medalists, the Tigers have been led by senior standouts Donovan Gaines and Gavin Robertson. While an undefeated mark won’t be possible this year for the Tigers, Alter says the outlook for this season still looks good.
The Tigers will have a tough stretch of matches to start 2020.
Kirksville will face Moberly, Hannibal, and Marshall as part of a quad match at Moberly on January 8th beginning at 5pm.
