In February the Kirskville School District put their solar panel project online. The project currently features 200 solar panels on top of the Kirksville Vo-Tech Building. Since the panels went online the Kirksville School District has seen $28,000 in electrical savings. Kirksville Superintendent Bob Webb says these savings are resulting in plans to expand the project.

The Kirksville School Board has already authorized the planning process for the expansion. Webb hopes to have the new solar panels online quickly.

The solar panel expansion project timeline will be dependent on the length of a roof repair project for the school.
