One suspect is in custody and Kirksville police are searching for two persons of interest in connection with an armed robbery Friday night in the city. Officers responded to an apartment in the 600 block of South High Street around 11:20 in reference to a report of a male pulling a gun on another male and learned the incident was actually an armed robbery. Officers were informed the robbery involved two males that confronted the victim outside the apartment before following the victim back inside his apartment and stealing cash from him. The two suspects were described as mixed race males, one wearing a black hoodie and the other wearing a green sweat suit. Officers also gathered information about a possible third male suspect involved in the robbery.

Kirksville officers later served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of South Fifth Street in reference to the robbery investigation. They took one male suspect into custody at that location and are searching for two persons of interest. The report states the robbery was not a random act and the victim in this case was specifically targeted. Kirksville police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
