Over the weekend, Missouri saw some of its largest single day totals of positive COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in mid-March. The state’s positive rate of tests rose back to 5.6 percent over the weekend. Representative Kip Kendrick of Columbia says the coming days and weeks will be important for the state as businesses continue to reopen.

Kendrick adds Missourians need to keep in mind that the virus is still out there.

With the recent rise in cases in Missouri, Kendrick says wearing a mask continues to be an important safety precaution for citizens.

Missouri reported over 800 new cases of COVID-19 over the course of Saturday and Sunday. The state is sitting at just over 18,000 positive cases of the virus since the pandemic began.
