Kellen Nesbitt Named Truman Interim Head Football Coach

Defensive Coordinator Kellen Nesbitt has been named interim head football coach at Truman State less than a week after his father, Gregg, announced he was retiring. The University made the announcement this morning (Thur). Kellen Nesbitt reacts to the news….

Under Kellen Nesbitt, the Truman State defense has been one of the top units in not only the Great Lakes Valley Conference but the NCAA Division II as well. They have been first or second in the GLVC in both rushing yards and points allowed in nine of the 11 seasons and ranked within the top 25 of Division II schools in rushing yards allowed in eight of the past nine campaigns.

Nesbitt is a 2002 graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia and played defensive back at Central Missouri where he was a four-year letterwinner.

Kellen Nesbitt becomes the 23rd head coach for the Bulldogs in 117 seasons.
