A Jefferson City woman was killed Saturday night when the boat she was in struck an object in the Missouri River. The State Highway Patrol says 48-year-old Tanna Henson was one of two people thrown from their seats in the boat, which was headed upriver when it hit the object near mile marker 142 in Callaway County around 7pm. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital around 11:10pm. The boat’s operator, 51-year-old Scotty Smallwood of Lohman, had moderate injuries and was taken to Columbia. Smallwood was also arrested and charged for boating while intoxicated, death of another.
