Participants in yield contests are encouraged to try new products and techniques to maximize their output. Huntsville farmer Joe Kruse won Missouri Soybeans’s most recent yield contest for District Two in the conventional till category. He tells Regional Radio he’s open to trying the newest technology.

Kruse achieved 79.33 bushels per acre last year in his contest plot. He said one suggestion from his seed dealer might help him surpass 80 bushels with this year’s crop.

Joe Kruse of Huntsville says he first competed in yield contests four years ago and anticipates signing up again this year.
