Initiative Petition Reform Fails in Missouri Senate

Despite early passage by the Missouri House of Representatives, initiative petition reform failed to pass out of the Senate in the final days. House Elections and Elected Officials Chair Representative Peggy McGaugh explains what she thinks went wrong with the legislation in the Senate.

The Carrollton Republican was a driving force behind the push for initiative petition reform. McGaugh says it was frustrating to see how things got bogged down late in the session.

The Missouri Legislature passed just 43 non-budget bills during this year’s session.
