An Independence woman suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident on I-70 in Cooper County Tuesday afternoon. The Highway Patrol reports that around 5, 21-year-old Madonna Garcia-Bolanos went off the left side of the road in her SUV, struck the median cable and overturned, with debris hitting an SUV driven by 42-year-old Angela Randolph of Jefferson City. Both Garcia-Bolanos and a two-year-old juvenile passenger, who sustained minor injuries, were taken to Columbia. No injuries were reported for Randolph.
