Four Missouri 4-H members will comprise the state’s first team to compete in a regional crop scouting contest.  The team of Ryan Head, Ryan Lucas, Grant Oaks, and Clara Wallace will travel to Purdue University this fall for the competition, where they’ll be tested on their knowledge of various crop-related topics.

The four were among 27 that participated in Missouri 4-H’s inaugural Crop Scouting Day, hosted at the Bradford Research Center near Columbia on July 19th.  Oaks represented Sullivan County and placed first in the senior division, followed by Lucas and Wallace.  Landon Kendrick of Audrain County earned top honors in the intermediate division, followed by Levi Lucas of Atchison County and Selby Hulse of Marion County.  Hulse was on the top intermediate team alongside Kaden Oaks and Khloe Wallace.
