Hunters Reminded to Keep Safety in Mind Ahead of Firearms Deer Season

The 2022-23 Missouri Firearms Deer Season begins Saturday. There are a number of safety measures hunters should take before heading out to the woods. Randolph County conservation agent Zach Barnes says chief among them is wearing your hunter orange.

Those caught not wearing hunter orange can face penalties from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Barnes says there’s another key safety tip to keep in mind if you come across a deer.

Barnes adds it helps to develop a plan before going hunting.

The November portion of the firearms deer season will run through the 22nd. The antlerless portion of the season will follow from December 3rd through the 11th.
