How MSMC Selects Projects To Receive Checkoff Funding

The process for selecting research projects that receive funds from the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council takes several months of vetting and review. Chairman Kyle Durham says the process, which culminates with the group’s new fiscal year, begins each fall when the 13-member board releases its call for proposals.

Kyle Durham of the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council says two-and-a-half million dollars of Soy Checkoff funds were made available for this year’s approved projects. The most recent annual research report as well as the list of 31 projects receiving funds this year are available on the Missouri Soy website.
