House Committee Hears Statutory Initiative Petition Reform

Missouri House Elections and Elected Officials Committee Chair Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton says the committee heard House Bill 703 this past week, which deals with statutory initiative petition reform.

The need to standardize this process is meant to benefit county clerks and the Secretary of State’s office. McGaugh adds the bill deals with another element of the petition process.

House Bill 703 is sponsored by Representative Michael Haffner of Pleasant Hill. It is scheduled to have an executive committee hearing this week.
