House and Senate Down to Final Week of Budget Process

This past week, the Missouri Senate approved a 50 billion dollar state budget. Both chambers have formed special committees for this week’s final state budget negotiations. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton explains the format of these committees.

Taylor is a first-year member on the House Budget Committee. The Senate’s proposed budget includes that chamber’s 2.8 billion dollar plan to expand I-70 to three lanes from Blue Springs to Wentzville. Taylor expects they’ll stick with that plan.

The Missouri Legislature is required to pass a balanced budget by this Friday.
