The Higbee School District has been in discussions on whether or not to join the CLAA. Superintendent Danielle Tuepker explains where things stand.

The Tigers currently compete in the CCAA, which features Bunceton, Calvary Lutheran, Jamestown and Prairie Home. Tuepker says they can’t afford to stand pat.

A decision to join the CLAA was tabled at Higbee’s latest school board meeting. Tuepker was asked if the Tigers would have to expand any of their athletic programs if they were to join the conference.

Tuepker says the CCAA has invited a couple of districts to join the conference, but also the other schools in the conference are exploring their future options. The board hopes to have a decision on the CLAA by the end of the school year.
