Hero Hunt Program is Expanding

A program that allows veterans and active service military to participate in managed hunts at state parks is expanding. Area Officer for the Missouri Veterans Commission, Arthur Nott-Hopkins, says after a dramatic increase in applications to participate at Mark Twain State Park, Crowder State Park will also have a Hero Hunt this year.

Each park will host 15 hunters November 3rd through 5th. Applicants can apply for both through the Missouri Veterans Commission through noon on September 6th. Applications are available from any Missouri Veterans Commission area officer or on the state parks website. Nott-Hopkins says some veterans who have participated have come back to volunteer on later hunts.

Volunteers are needed at both sites. You can call those parks for more information.
